Quote(s) of the Day: There are so many fish in here!
I think I’m just really good at this! I could fish all day!
Notes:
What an awesome day on the water with Griffin and Ryan! Both who are brothers and are in town with their parents for a quick get-a-way from the home lands on Minnesota to do some fly fishing here in Colorado. We decided on Decker's because of the larger group and for the chance to catch some beautiful wild brown trout that this stretch is known for and that's exactly what we did! Caddis, bwos , midges and some spardic trico activity were the key to success today. With the heavy pressure from tubes and other anglers due to the weekend we decided to focus on the softer runs and less hit seams this proved to be the ticket with everyone getting into fish! What an awesome funday with an even better group of people!
Susan had only fly fished a handful of times before this trip. She only need about 30 minutes to shake off the rust, and then it was game time! She started hooking fish and lost a couple back to back, only because she had little experience fighting fish in swift current. Towards the middle of the day, she Hooked a fiesty brown trout that took off downriver. With the reel screaming, susan applied the proper pressure to the fish and brought it to the net very quickly. It was the best fish of the day! A beautiful 17” Brown trout.

Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear. The fishing is good.
