Quote(s) of the Day: What a great place to get away and fly fish.
What a pretty spot!
Notes:
We had a great day out on Clear creek for Matts Bachelor party. We decided on an after noon start on the river for a good evening of fly fishing. We found a pull off where we could access a nice section of river to get everyone started. Once we went over the basics, we split into groups and started fishing every pocket of river we could access. Wess found the first brown trout in our group hiding behind a large boulder in the river. After covering a good bit of water we packed up and headed out to the next spot all while having some snacks along the way. We hiked into the next area of river we wanted to fish and got right to it. We worked this section for the remainder of the evening all while finding a couple nice green back cutthroats. We had a great time out fishing with Matt, Joe, Wess and Kit on Clear Creek and hope to fish with them again some time soon!
What an awesome day on the water with Matt and kit! We hammered away today on dry flies in every seam or pocket on clear creek, Between hoppers and large stimulators we threw a little bit of it all today with fish eating just about anything we gave to them. A highstick and a steady drift were key on getting fish to move for flies especially when you only have a couple feet to entice them. Kit caught a fiesty fish right out the gate on an Amy's ant that surfaced 3 feet out the water! Matt was right behind him with a pretty brown trout on a elk hair caddis. Between mayflies caddisflies and terrestrials the selections are plentiful but matching the hatch will go along way!

Overcast skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Crystal Clear. The fishing is good.
