Quote(s) of the Day: Fly fishing is awesome!
Met up with Brett, Chase, and Taylor this morning on the S. Platte. Chase and Taylor are new to the Denver area, and are eagerly taking in what Colorado has to offer. With Brett in town for a quick visit, we took advantage of a beautiful spring day. It was every ones first time on the river with a fly rod. Taylor was the first to put steel in the mouth, but a frozen reel ended our chance at netting her first fish. Brett was next landing a beauty, the rare S. Platte sucker. With Brett and Taylor warming their toes Chase landed a nice 16" cuttbow. Moving up river Taylor put all she had learned in the morning and landed big fish of the day, an 18" bar of Colorado gold. Thanks for the memories, hope to see ya again soon. The river is running cold and steady, flows around 190 and the water temp hoovering in the mid thirties makes for some cold toes. Lots of food in the river for the trout to eat right rolling rocks has revealed large quantities of midges, scuds, and even a few caddis.

Partly Cloudy skies and 28-31 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Crystal Clear. The fishing is fair.
