Quote(s) of the Day: Winter is close on the South Platte near Deckers.
Had a great day out on the South Platte River. It is starting to feel like winter is close in the high country. The brown trout are getting close to being done spawning so fishing has gotten a little tougher. Post spawn can always be a difficult time to fish on the South Platte River but you can still find luck fishing the deeper pools where most fish congregate as the water temp cools. We had most luck today throwing midge imitations with an occasional fish on the egg pattern.

Partly Cloudy skies and 52-55 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Crystal Clear. The fishing is good.
