| Today was a day I have been waiting for. 1st day out this season and I had the pleasure to share this day with Seth from Laguna Beach. Being out here for work, he decided to play hooky for a day and get out on the water. Couldn't have asked for a better day to do it. With no clouds, no wind and weather in the 50's, we knew that the day couldn't go wrong. With the rise in water temperature and great winter flows we spent most of the day hitting structure and riffles looking for active trout rather then targeting trout in the pools. A few blue wings coming off and some great midge hatches had the trout submerged in the water column. After working on tight lining and getting down that perfect presentation, Seth was able to hook in to some very decent trout! We started our day at 9 A.M. and fished hard until 2 P.M. covering as much water as we could. Seth, it was a pleasure getting out with you and thanks for helping me start out this season with a bang! Hope to see you on the water soon. |
